As ID Abiola, I wear many hats. As a kid, I always what it meant to be in charge of making things happen, of translating ideas into reality. I always admired business owners and leaders even as a kid. My path since then has unwittingly led me to also become one of the businessmen that I used to admire. This path has led me to several fields including project management. I found myself first, in procurement and logistics, where I was helping thousands of clients to source products directly from China and other countries in the world, directly to Nigeria. While doing this, I found passion in organizing events, which led me to put together some fun shows and travel trips which brings back some of my fondest memories. I have also apparently had a knack for helping to build businesses as a partner. I am a father, a husband, an entrepreneur, a devout Muslim and much more.
Soon after secondary education, I could not wait to be in university, so I applied to Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife. On the recommendation of trusted family and friends, I decided to study Dramatic Arts. Sure, my course of study had nothing to do with business or organization, however, I majored in theatre management. This was pivotal as it exposed me to the responsibility of bringing entire productions to reality.
My appetite for management had already been wetted in my first degree, so I proceeded to the Unted Kingdom where I studied Project Management for my master’s degree in Solent University, Southampton.
As someone who believes that education is lifelong and inexhaustible, I am always reading books and open to further education as it helps me to improve my industry and contribute to humanity.
My first foray in management began when I served as a road manager for Satgotech Limited in the earlier stages of my life. After cutting my teeth here, I went on to learn more about the importation, procurement and logistics industry which made me enter the space as a freelancer.
After freelancing as a consultant for clients who want to ship products to Nigeria from other countries, I founded Highdeal Import and Logistics, a procurement and logistics company in 2019 that has gone on to service thousands of clients in countless deals.
While building my business, I had the opportunity to serve as Associate Partner for several businesses including Towobola Enterprises, Wait n Carry ad Express Cargo. These partnerships enriched my experience as a professional in the logistics industry.
I have been involved in several real estate projects, brand marketing campaigns as well as strategic projects that are related to the logistics side of my work.
I have managed several shows, local and international tour projects, concerts as well as other small events and gigs.
It is my lifelong dream to contribute to the logistics industry in Nigeria and Africa at large, especially in resolving age long bottlenecks that has prevented smooth and effective distribution of goods across the country. I am also very interested in curating events, festivals and shows and managing such projects to successful executions.
On a lighter note, I enjoy quiet evenings and football. I love to travel and enjoy experiences from different climes and different times. Although I am a trained Project Manager, I am also a thespian, and I am a curator of the arts, music and theatre.
